Walking
If you are in Phuket Town, the easiest way to reach Phuket Old Town is by walking. Begin at the nearest landmark, such as the Phuket Town Hall or the clock tower on Thalang Road, which is a well-known reference point. From the clock tower, head south on Thalang Road. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the vibrant streets lined with Sino-Portuguese architecture. You will know you have arrived at Phuket Old Town when you see the colorful buildings and local shops. This walk should take around 10-15 minutes.
Tuk-tuk
For a more unique experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk to get to Phuket Old Town. You can find tuk-tuks throughout Phuket Town. Simply approach a driver and tell them you want to go to Phuket Old Town, specifically to Thalang Road. The fare should be around 100-150 THB depending on your starting point. The journey will take about 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, there are several bike rental shops in Phuket Town. Rent a bicycle for around 200-300 THB per day. From the rental shop, navigate towards Thalang Road, which is about 1 km away. Cycle along the main roads, and you'll reach Phuket Old Town in approximately 10 minutes. Be mindful of traffic and follow local cycling regulations.
Public Bus
You can also take a local bus (songthaew) to reach Phuket Old Town. Look for the green songthaews that run through Phuket Town. Hop on the one that indicates a route towards the Old Town. The fare is typically around 30-40 THB. The bus will drop you off near Thalang Road, and from there, it’s just a short walk to the heart of Old Town.
