Getting There

    From Samut Prakan, head to the nearest bus stop and look for buses heading towards Bangkok. You can take bus number 511 or 25 which frequently operate between Samut Prakan and various parts of Bangkok. Once you board the bus, inform the driver you want to go to Khao San Road. The journey will take about 1 hour depending on traffic. Get off at the stop closest to Phra Nakhon area and follow signs to Khao San Road.

    Make your way to the nearest pier in Samut Prakan, such as the Phra Pradaeng Pier. From there, take a boat heading towards Bangkok. Disembark at the Sathorn Pier. Once you are there, transfer to the Chao Phraya Express Boat and take the boat heading to Tha Phra Chan Pier. From Tha Phra Chan Pier, it’s a short walk to Khao San Road. Follow the signs towards the road and enjoy the local atmosphere.

    Travel from Samut Prakan to the nearest BTS Skytrain station. You can catch the BTS to Mo Chit station. Then, transfer to the MRT subway at Chatuchak Park station and head to Hua Lamphong station. From Hua Lamphong, take a taxi or a bus to Khao San Road. It’s about a 15-minute drive from Hua Lamphong.
