Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near Ubon Ratchathani's city center, start at the Ubon Ratchathani Cultural Center. From there, head southeast on Thung Si Muang Road until you reach the intersection with the larger road, Ratchadamnoen Road. Turn left onto Ratchadamnoen Road and walk for about 500 meters. You will see a large roundabout; cross the road carefully. Continue walking straight on Ratchadamnoen Road until you reach Luang Alley. Turn right onto Luang Alley. Wat Maha Wanaram will be on your left at 370 Luang Alley.

  • Public Transport (Songthaew)

    From the Ubon Ratchathani Bus Station, take a songthaew (a shared taxi) heading towards the city center. Ask the driver to drop you off at the intersection of Ratchadamnoen Road and Thung Si Muang Road. From there, you can either walk to Wat Maha Wanaram as described above, or take another songthaew that goes directly to the temple. Just inform the driver of your destination.
