Getting There

    From the center of Bakau, head towards the Bakau market. Once you reach the market, look for the main road leading out of Bakau towards the west. Follow this road until you reach the junction at the end of Bakau where you can see the signs for Bafuloto. Continue straight on this road, which will take you past local villages and some beautiful scenery. Keep an eye out for the Makasutu National Park signs as you approach. It is approximately a 30 to 40-minute walk from the Bakau market to Makasutu.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Bakau market and take the main road heading west. The route is mostly flat and follows the same path as the walking route. After about 10 minutes, you will reach a junction that leads towards Bafuloto. Continue straight on this road for about 20 minutes until you reach the entrance to Makasutu National Park. Riding a bicycle will make your journey faster, approximately 20 to 25 minutes.

  • Public Transport (Kekeh or Local Taxi)

    Find a Kekeh (a local three-wheeled taxi) in Bakau. Inform the driver that you want to go to Makasutu, and they will know the way. The Kekeh will take you through Bakau and out towards Bafuloto. The ride should take around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey. You can also ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Makasutu National Park.
