Walking
From the center of Bakau, head towards the Bakau Fish Market. Once you reach the market, continue along the main road, known as Kairaba Avenue. Walk straight until you reach the junction with the Senegambia Strip, a popular area with hotels and restaurants. At this junction, turn left onto the Senegambia Strip and continue walking for about 15-20 minutes. Look for signs pointing towards Mariama Kunda, as this will help guide you. After reaching Mariama Kunda, keep an eye out for the directions towards Salagi Forest Park, which will be on your right side. Follow the signs, and you'll arrive at the entrance of Salagi Forest Park.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Bakau. Start at the Bakau Fish Market and cycle towards Kairaba Avenue. Once you reach the junction with the Senegambia Strip, turn left and continue cycling for about 15-20 minutes. Look for signs that indicate Mariama Kunda. Once you reach Mariama Kunda, keep looking for directions toward Salagi Forest Park, which should be nearby on your right. Ensure to ride safely and be aware of traffic.
Public Transport (Local Transport)
To reach Salagi Forest Park using local transport, catch a 'bush taxi' or shared taxi from Bakau to Mariama Kunda. Head to the Bakau Fish Market area where taxis frequently stop. Let the driver know you're going to Mariama Kunda. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive in Mariama Kunda, ask locals for directions to Salagi Forest Park, which is located nearby. Most locals will be familiar with the area and can guide you to the entrance.
