Getting There

  • Walking

    From Bakau, head northeast towards the main road (Kairaba Avenue). Once you reach the main road, you can either take a taxi or find a shared minibus (locally called 'Gele-Gele') heading towards Banjul. If you opt for walking, continue along the main road until you reach the junction leading to the Banjul International Airport. This area is well-marked, so you should be able to find your way easily.

  • Minibus (Gele-Gele)

    After reaching the main road in Bakau, look for a minibus (Gele-Gele) heading towards Banjul. Ask the driver to drop you off at the bus station in Banjul. From there, you will need to catch another minibus heading towards the Bafuloto area. Ensure to clarify with the driver that you are going to Bafuloto, as some buses have different routes.

  • Walking from Banjul

    Once you arrive in Bafuloto, you can ask locals for directions to Makasutu. The park is not far from the main road, and most locals are friendly and willing to help. Walk along the main road, and look for signs leading to Makasutu, or continue until you find the entrance to the park.

  • Local Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can find a local taxi from Bakau to take you to Makasutu. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your trip. The taxi will take you directly to the park entrance, which is located at 896M+6HC, Bafuloto.
