Getting there

Walking

If you are in the central area of Banjul, start by heading towards the Albert Market. From there, walk south on Liberation Avenue until you reach the junction with High Street. Turn left onto High Street and continue straight. McCarthy Square is located just a short distance ahead on your right side, near the entrance to the Banjul City Council.

If you are near the Banjul Waterfront, walk north along the waterfront promenade toward the main street. Once you reach the junction with Nelson Mandela Avenue, turn left and head towards the city center. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with High Street. Turn right onto High Street, and you will find McCarthy Square shortly after on your right.

For those starting from the Gambia National Museum, exit the museum and turn left. Walk down the street until you reach Liberation Avenue. Turn right and continue straight until you hit High Street. Turn left onto High Street, and McCarthy Square will be on your right after a short walk.
