Car
If you are traveling by car from central Foni Brefet, head east towards the main road (Banjul - Barra Road). Follow the road towards Serrekunda. After approximately 30 km, you will enter Serrekunda. Keep an eye out for the F77W+HH9 address, which is near the hotel 'Bakotu.' You can use a GPS or map application to help navigate directly to the coordinates: 13.4639° N, 16.7035° W. Parking is usually available around the hotel.
Public Transportation (Bush Taxi)
To reach Bakotu using public transportation, locate a bush taxi station in Foni Brefet. Take a bush taxi heading towards Serrekunda. This journey may take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Inform the driver of your destination (Serrekunda, near Bakotu) to ensure they drop you off at the closest point. Once you arrive in Serrekunda, you may need to walk or take a local taxi to F77W+HH9, the address of Bakotu. Keep some local currency (Dalasi) for the fare, which should be around 20-50 Dalasi.
Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)
An alternative to reach Bakotu is to use a motorbike taxi, known locally as Boda Boda. From Foni Brefet, find a Boda Boda driver who can take you to Serrekunda. The ride may cost between 100-200 Dalasi and will get you there much faster than a bush taxi. Once in Serrekunda, ask the driver to drop you off at the F77W+HH9 location where Bakotu hotel is located.
