From any point in Fulladu West, head towards the main road that leads to Banjul. Drive towards the junction where you will see signs for Maccarthy Island. Make sure to have a GPS or a map app handy as the roads can be confusing. Follow the signs towards the river ferry terminal in Banjul. The ferry ride to Maccarthy Island typically costs around 100 Dalasi ($2) per person. Once you reach the terminal, take the ferry across the river. The ferry operates regularly, but check the schedule to avoid long waits.
Public Transportation (Taxi)
You can catch a shared taxi (also known as a 'gelenje') from any major point in Fulladu West. Ask the driver to take you to Banjul ferry terminal. The fare should be approximately 50 Dalasi ($1) per person. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Maccarthy Island, which costs around 100 Dalasi ($2). Make sure to confirm that the ferry is operating before you go.
