From Janjanbureh Island, take the main road south towards the ferry crossing. Drive approximately 12 kilometers to reach the ferry point on the Gambia River. Here, you will need to pay a small fee (around 50-100 Dalasi) for the ferry crossing. Once on the ferry, enjoy the scenic views as you cross the river. Upon reaching the other side, continue driving for about 5 kilometers until you spot the signs for Maccarthy Island. Follow the road signs that direct you toward Maccarthy Island.
