Car
If you are driving from the center of Jarra West, head south on the main road (Banjul to Basse road). Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you see signs for Tendaba. Turn left onto the road leading to Tendaba. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers. Tendaba Camp is located on your right, near the Gambia River. There are signs along the way to guide you.
Public Transportation
To reach Tendaba Camp using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi or 'bush taxi' from the center of Jarra West to Tendaba. Look for taxis heading to Tendaba or ask locals for directions. The journey typically costs around 50-100 Dalasi (GMD) per person and takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Tendaba, you can ask the driver to drop you off at Tendaba Camp, which is well-known in the area.
Walking
For those who are adventurous and within a reasonable distance, you can walk to Tendaba Camp from central Jarra West. Head south on the main road (Banjul to Basse road) for about 15 kilometers. After turning left onto the road to Tendaba, continue for another 5 kilometers until you reach the camp. This option may take several hours, so be sure to bring water and wear comfortable shoes.
