From the center of Lamin, head towards the Lamin Lodge located near the Lamin River. Once at the lodge, ask for directions to the nearest boat dock, as Kunta Kinteh Island is accessible only by boat. Walk along the riverside path until you reach the boat dock. You may need to wait for a local boat to fill up with passengers, so be patient. The boat ride will take you directly to Kunta Kinteh Island, which is a short distance across the river.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Lamin. Start by cycling towards Lamin Lodge, following the same route as you would on foot. Once you reach the lodge, continue to the boat dock. Biking is a great way to enjoy the scenic views along the river. Once at the boat dock, park your bike in a safe spot and board the boat to Kunta Kinteh Island. Remember to confirm the boat's departure time with the locals.
Local Transport (Boat)
