Getting There

  • Walking

    Start in the center of Lamin. Head south towards the main road, which is Lamin Road. Once you reach Lamin Road, turn left and follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the main highway (Banjul – Barra Road). At the junction, you will see a sign directing you towards Banjul. Continue straight onto the highway for approximately 3 kilometers. After reaching the outskirts of Banjul, look for signs leading to Marina Parade. Turn left at the first major intersection onto Marina Parade, and follow the road for about 1 kilometer. The Six-gun Battery will be on your left side, easily identifiable as a historical landmark.

  • Public Transport (Mini Bus)

    From Lamin, walk to the nearest mini bus station along Lamin Road. Take a mini bus heading to Banjul; these are usually marked with a Banjul sign. The journey will take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Banjul, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, walk towards Marina Parade, which is around a 15-minute walk. Follow the road signs to Marina Parade, and you will reach the Six-gun Battery located along the parade.

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Lamin and head south towards Lamin Road. Turn left onto Lamin Road and continue for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Banjul – Barra Road. Turn left at the junction and ride along the highway for approximately 3 kilometers towards Banjul. After passing the outskirts of Banjul, look for Marina Parade signs. Turn left onto Marina Parade and cycle for about 1 kilometer. The Six-gun Battery will be on your left.
