Getting There

Car
If you're traveling by car in the Lower River Region, make your way to the main road heading towards Tendaba. From the capital, Banjul, take the Trans-Gambia Highway (A1) heading east. After approximately 40 km, take the exit toward Tendaba. Follow the signs leading to Tendaba village. The camp is located at C5QR+J98, which is near the Gambia River. There are no tolls on this route, but ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as fuel stations can be sparse.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, you can catch a 'Gele-Gele' (shared taxi) from Banjul to the Lower River Region. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Tendaba. This ride typically costs around 50 Dalasi. From the junction, you may need to wait for a 'bush taxi' heading directly to Tendaba, which will cost another 20 Dalasi. The bush taxi will drop you off near the camp. Keep in mind that the frequency of these vehicles can vary, so be prepared for potential waiting times.

Motorbike Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option, you can also use a motorbike taxi. This is particularly useful if you're already in Tendaba village. Motorbike taxis can be found at various points in the village and can take you directly to Tendaba camp for about 30 Dalasi. Just negotiate the fare before getting on.

If you are already in Tendaba village and would like to enjoy the scenery, it is also possible to walk to Tendaba camp. The camp is only about a 15 to 20-minute walk from the village center. Follow the main path that leads towards the river, and you will find signs directing you to the camp.
