Getting There

    From the center of Serrekunda, head north towards the main road (Kairaba Avenue). Once you reach Kairaba Avenue, turn left and continue walking until you reach the junction with the Banjul Highway. Cross the highway carefully and continue straight on the dirt road. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will notice a sign that points towards Makasutu. Follow the sign, which will lead you to the entrance of the national park.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, head north from Serrekunda to Kairaba Avenue. Once you reach Kairaba Avenue, turn left and cycle along the avenue until you reach the junction with the Banjul Highway. Carefully cross the highway to the dirt road. Continue straight along this road for approximately 20 minutes. Look out for the sign indicating Makasutu and follow it to reach the entrance of the national park.

  • Public Transport (Bush Taxi)

    From Serrekunda, find a bush taxi (shared minivan) heading towards Banjul. Get on the taxi and inform the driver you want to go to Bafuloto/Makasutu. The taxi will drop you off at the nearest point to the national park. After getting off, ask locals for directions to Makasutu; it is a short walk from where the taxi stops. Follow the signs or local guidance to reach the entrance of the park.
