Getting there

Car

Starting from Tendaba Camp, head north on the main road (Banjul - Barra Road). Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for Macca Farafenni. Turn left onto the road leading to Macca Farafenni. Continue for about 5 kilometers, following the signs for Pakala Forest Park. The park entrance will be on your right, and you'll see a sign indicating the park as you approach.

Public Transportation

From Tendaba Camp, take a shared taxi or local bus heading towards Macca Farafenni. The fare is typically around 50 dalasi (GMD). Inform the driver that you want to get off at the junction for Macca Farafenni. Once you arrive at the junction, you may need to walk approximately 5 kilometers to reach Pakala Forest Park. Alternatively, you can ask locals for assistance or a ride if available. Look for signs indicating the direction to the park.

Walking

If you are already near the entrance of Macca Farafenni and prefer walking, from the junction, head southeast along the road towards Pakala Forest Park. It is about a 5-kilometer walk. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, as the area can be warm.
