Getting There

    From Kunta Kinteh Island, head southwest towards the ferry terminal. Cross the river via the ferry to the mainland, which typically costs around 10-20 GMD per person. Once you reach the mainland, take the main road (Banjul - Barra Road) heading north. Follow the signs towards Banni Swamp, which is approximately 30 km away. After about 30 minutes of driving, look for the sign indicating Banni Swamp and turn left onto the access road. Continue on this road until you reach your destination, which will be marked by local signs.

    To use public transportation, start from Kunta Kinteh Island and make your way to the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to the mainland, which costs around 10-20 GMD per person. Once on the mainland, find a shared taxi or a 'Gelly Gelly' (local minibus) heading towards Barra. Inform the driver of your destination, Banni Swamp; the fare should be around 20-50 GMD. After approximately 30 minutes, ask to be dropped off at the nearest access point to Banni Swamp. You may need to walk a short distance to reach the swamp area.
