Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Atakpamé, start by heading northeast towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Walk along this road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route Nationale 1. Continue walking on this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the sign for Danyi Apéyemé. After the sign, follow the road for another 3 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local landmarks such as the large market and several small shops along the way, as they indicate you are on the right path. Once you reach Danyi Apéyemé, ask locals for directions to the Monuments, which are located just off the main road.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle in Atakpamé, preferably near the market area. Start your journey by heading east on Avenue de l'Indépendance. After about 500 meters, turn left onto Route Nationale 1. Ride along this road for about 2 kilometers until you see signs directing you to Danyi Apéyemé. This route is relatively flat and scenic, with a few local shops where you can stop for refreshments. Once in Danyi Apéyemé, you can park your bicycle in front of the monuments.

• Local Transport (Moto-taxi)

  From wherever you are in Atakpamé, find a moto-taxi (a motorcycle taxi), which is a common and quick way to get around. Tell the driver you want to go to Monuments de DANYI APEYEME. The drivers are usually familiar with the destination, but you can also mention that it is in Danyi Apéyemé. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The moto-taxi will drop you off near the entrance of the monuments.
