Car
If you're driving, head towards the town of Atakpamé, located approximately 40 km from Malfakassa. From Atakpamé, take Route Nationale 1 heading northeast for about 20 km until you reach the junction near the village of Kpalimé. Turn left onto the dirt road leading to Malfakassa. The road can be bumpy, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Follow the signs towards Malfakassa, and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
Public Transportation
To reach Malfakassa via public transport, locate a bush taxi (shared taxi) heading towards Atakpamé from your current location in the Plateaux Region. Once you arrive in Atakpamé, you will need to find another bush taxi that goes to Kpalimé. After reaching Kpalimé, ask the driver or locals for the nearest bush taxi going towards Malfakassa. Make sure to confirm the fare, which should be around 1,500 to 2,000 CFA Francs from Atakpamé to Kpalimé and an additional 1,000 CFA Francs for the final leg to Malfakassa.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can start from the nearest village on the way to Malfakassa after reaching Kpalimé. Be prepared for a hike that may take several hours, depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have enough water and snacks, as there are limited resources along the way. The paths are not well-marked, so it is advisable to ask locals for directions.
