Walking
If you are in the main village of Ha'apai, start at the local market in Pangai. Head southeast toward the main road leading out of Pangai, which is called 'Pangai Road'. Continue along this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach a fork. Take the left path, which is the 'Mu'a Road'. Follow Mu'a Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the village of Mu'a. Look for the signs that point towards historical landmarks, as Paepae o Tele'a is one of them. The landmark is located at RVGM+2CR in Mu'a. You will find it near the coast, so keep an eye out for the water as you approach. The site will be on your right as you get closer to the beach.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Pangai. Start from the center of Pangai and ride southeast on 'Pangai Road'. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the fork. At the fork, take the left onto 'Mu'a Road'. Cycle along Mu'a Road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass through the village of Mu'a, where you can stop and ask locals for directions if needed. Keep heading toward the coast, and you’ll find Paepae o Tele'a at RVGM+2CR. It is easily accessible and visible from the road near the beach.
Local Transport (Tonga's Bus or Taxi)
From any location in Ha'apai, find a local bus or taxi that heads towards Mu'a. You can catch a bus from the central bus stop in Pangai. Inform the driver that you want to go to Mu'a. The fare is usually inexpensive. Once you reach Mu'a, ask the driver to drop you off near the historical landmark signs. From there, you can walk to Paepae o Tele'a, which is located at RVGM+2CR. It’s a short walk from the bus drop-off point to the landmark.
