Car
If you are driving from Kotu, head south on the main road (Tonga's main highway) towards Niutoua. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach a small junction. Turn left when you see the sign for Niutoua. Continue on this road for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at Maka Fa'akinanga, which is located at VX72+PR9, Niutoua. There is no entry fee to the site.
Public Transportation
To reach Maka Fa'akinanga via public transportation, take a local bus from Kotu towards Niutoua. Buses from Kotu to Niutoua run every hour. The fare is approximately T$2. After about 20 minutes, you will arrive at Niutoua. From the bus stop, walk south for about 10 minutes until you reach the location at VX72+PR9. There is no entry fee to access the site.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, starting from Kotu, head south towards the main highway. Once you reach the highway, follow it south for about 4 kilometers (approximately 1 hour of walking). When you reach the junction for Niutoua, turn left and continue for another 1 kilometer to reach Maka Fa'akinanga at VX72+PR9. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as it can be a long walk.
