From the center of Neiafu, head east towards the waterfront along Vuna Rd. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Main Rd. Turn right onto Main Rd and walk for about 15 minutes. You will pass local shops and restaurants on your left. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Nuku'alofa. As you approach the outskirts of Neiafu, you will see a sign for the road leading to Tamakautonga Rd. Follow this road until you reach Ancient Tonga, located at VR4M+F26, Tamakautonga Rd. The entire walk should take approximately 40-50 minutes.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Neiafu. Start your journey by heading east along Vuna Rd, then turn right onto Main Rd. Follow Main Rd for about 15 minutes. After passing through some shops, look for a sign indicating the turn to Tamakautonga Rd. Cycle down this road for another 10-15 minutes until you reach Ancient Tonga, situated at VR4M+F26, Tamakautonga Rd. This route will take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
Boat
If you prefer a scenic route, consider taking a boat from Neiafu to Nuku'alofa. Arrange for a local boat tour that includes a stop at Tamakautonga Rd. Once you arrive at the dock in Nuku'alofa, disembark and walk towards Tamakautonga Rd, which should be a short distance from the dock. Follow the road until you reach Ancient Tonga. Be sure to check the boat schedule in advance and allow for potential delays.
