Getting There

  • Car

    If you have access to a car, start from your accommodation in Nomuka Island. Drive towards the main road heading southwest. Follow the signs towards Houma. The drive should take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you arrive in Houma, look for signs indicating Mapu'a Vaea Blowholes. The blowholes are located roughly RMGR+8M4 (you can use this location in your GPS). There is limited parking available near the site.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, you can catch a local bus or shared taxi heading towards Houma. Buses run frequently but may not have a set schedule, so waiting times can vary. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Mapu'a Vaea Blowholes. The fare is generally around T$5-10.
