Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Nuku'alofa, head southeast on Hihifo Highway (also known as the main road). Continue on this road for approximately 22 kilometers. As you approach the Matahau area, look for Loto Road on your left. Turn onto Loto Road, and continue for about 1 kilometer. You will find the 3 Headed Coconut at the coordinates RPQC+WM9, Loto Rd, Matahau. Look for the distinctive three-headed coconut tree, which is a popular photo spot.

Public Transportation

From Nuku'alofa, take a local bus heading towards the southern part of Tongatapu. Make sure to ask the driver for confirmation that the bus goes to Matahau. The bus ride will take around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Matahau area, request to be dropped off near Loto Road. After getting off, walk down Loto Road for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the 3 Headed Coconut. Keep an eye out for the coconut tree as it is a notable landmark.
