Getting There

  • Car

    From Pitch Lake, head east on the Southern Main Road (Route 1) for approximately 13 kilometers. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the San Fernando By-Pass. Merge onto the San Fernando By-Pass and continue for about 6 kilometers. Take the exit onto the Solomon Hochoy Highway (Route 2) heading north. After about 12 kilometers, take the exit towards the South Trunk Road. Continue on the South Trunk Road for 5 kilometers, then turn left onto the Unnamed Road towards Carmichael. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers until you see signs for Tamana Bat Cave.

    From Pitch Lake, take a taxi or minibus heading towards San Fernando. Ask the driver to let you off at the San Fernando By-Pass. From there, catch a bus heading north on the Solomon Hochoy Highway. Get off at the South Trunk Road stop. Once you arrive at South Trunk Road, you can either walk or catch a local taxi to the Unnamed Road towards Carmichael. Inform the driver of your destination, Tamana Bat Cave, and they will take you directly there. The total cost for public transportation may vary, but expect to pay around TT$20-30 per trip.
