Car
To reach Tobago from St. John by car, begin by driving to the Port of Spain. Start on the Eastern Main Road (also known as the Main Road) towards Port of Spain. After approximately 30 minutes, merge onto the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway. Follow the signs for the ferry terminal, which is located at the western end of Port of Spain, known as the Ferry Terminal. The address is 1A Wrightson Road, Port of Spain. Ensure to arrive at least 1 hour before your ferry departure to secure tickets and board the vessel. The ferry ride to Tobago takes about 2.5 hours and costs approximately TTD 50-100, depending on the class of service chosen.
Public Transportation
To get to Tobago via public transportation, take a taxi or a bus from St. John to Port of Spain. If you opt for a bus, head to the nearest bus terminal; buses to Port of Spain are frequent and cost around TTD 20-30. Once you arrive in Port of Spain, make your way to the Ferry Terminal located at 1A Wrightson Road. You can take a local taxi, which costs about TTD 15-20, or walk if you prefer. Once at the terminal, purchase your ferry tickets, and ensure you arrive at least 1 hour before departure. The ferry ride to Tobago will take around 2.5 hours, with ticket prices ranging from TTD 50-100.
