Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Matmata. Head southeast on Route 13 towards the intersection with Route 10. After approximately 3 kilometers, turn left onto Route 10. Continue driving for about 5 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Grota. Look for the sign indicating Grota and follow the dirt road leading towards the site. Parking should be available near the entrance.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, begin your journey from the Matmata bus station. Look for a local shared taxi (also known as a 'louage') that is heading towards the nearby village of Toujane, as many drivers will know Grota. The fare should be approximately 5 TND. Inform the driver that you are going to Grota. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the turn-off for Grota, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer along the dirt path to reach the attraction. Be sure to check the return schedule with the driver, as shared taxis may not run frequently.
