If you are driving, start from the town of Nefta, which is about 20 km from Chott El Jerib. Head north on Route Nationale 16 towards the town of Ksar Ouled Soltane. Follow the signs for Chott El Jerib. After approximately 10 km, you will reach a turnoff for Rue Chott El Jerid. Take this turn and continue for about 5 km until you reach the salt flats. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for off-road driving as the terrain may be uneven.
Public Transportation
To reach Chott El Jerib by public transport, take a shared taxi (known as a 'louage') from Nefta to Ksar Ouled Soltane. The fare is approximately 5 TND and the journey takes about 30 minutes. From Ksar Ouled Soltane, you can negotiate a taxi to take you directly to Chott El Jerib, which should cost around 10-15 TND for a one-way trip. Ensure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
