Elevit Yaylası: A Natural Paradise in Rize

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from any central location in Caria and head towards Rize. Use a GPS or map application to navigate to Elevit Yaylası, which is located at the coordinates (40.8551984, 41.0149185). The drive from Rize to Elevit Yaylası takes approximately 1.5 hours. Follow the signs towards Çamlıhemşin and then to Yaylaköy. Once you reach Yaylaköy, continue on the local roads until you arrive at the Elevit Yaylası area. Be prepared for some narrow and winding roads as you approach the yayla (highland). Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some parts of the road may be rough.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Rize to Çamlıhemşin. Buses depart regularly from the central bus station in Rize and the ticket price is around 30-40 TRY. The bus ride takes about 1 hour. Once you reach Çamlıhemşin, you can find local dolmuş (shared taxi) services that go to Yaylaköy and Elevit Yaylası. The dolmuş fare is approximately 15-20 TRY per person. Make sure to inform the driver that you are going to Elevit Yaylası, as some dolmuş may not go directly there.

  For adventurous travelers, an alternative is to hike from Yaylaköy to Elevit Yaylası. This hike is about 10-12 kilometers and can take around 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level. The trail is well-marked, and you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
