If you are driving, first navigate to Maçka, Trabzon. From Maçka, head towards the Altındere Valley National Park. The monastery is located within the park. You can follow signs to Sümela Monastery, which will guide you through the winding roads up the mountain. There is parking available at the entrance of the park, and the parking fee is approximately 20 TL. From the parking area, you will need to walk about 1.5 km uphill to reach the monastery itself.

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Trabzon city center to Maçka. Buses run frequently and cost around 10 TL. Once you arrive in Maçka, you can take a minibus (dolmuş) to the Altındere Valley National Park entrance. The minibus fare is about 5 TL.
