Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Çamlıhemşin, which is a common base for exploring the Kaçkar Mountains. Head east on the D950 highway towards Rize. After approximately 10 kilometers, take the exit towards Çatköy. Follow the signs leading you into Çatköy village. Once in the village, navigate to the coordinates VW9Q+6X, which will lead you to the Viewpoint over the mountain ridge. The road may become narrower and more winding as you approach the viewpoint. Ensure your vehicle is capable of handling these conditions, and be cautious of any oncoming traffic. Parking is usually available near the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the viewpoint using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Rize to Çamlıhemşin. The bus ride takes about 1-1.5 hours, and buses leave regularly from Rize's main bus station. Upon arrival in Çamlıhemşin, you can either take a local minibus or taxi to Çatköy. The minibus will drop you off close to the viewpoint. Make sure to confirm with the driver that you are heading to the Viewpoint over the mountain ridge, and be aware of the return schedules to ensure you can get back to Çamlıhemşin or Rize.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, if you are already in the vicinity of Çatköy and wish to hike, you can start from Çatköy village. Follow marked trails that lead towards the mountain ridge. This hike can take several hours depending on your pace and the specific trail chosen, so prepare accordingly with proper hiking gear, food, and water. The trail will eventually lead you to the viewpoint, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Always check local weather conditions and inform someone of your hiking plan.
