Car
If you're traveling by car, start from any point in Troad and navigate towards the Aegean Coast. Use a GPS or mapping app to set your destination to 'Fatih, İstanbul'. The most common route is via the D550 highway, which connects to the O-1 highway leading into the city. Once you reach the Fatih district, look for signs directing you to the Sultanahmet area, where The Blue Mosque is located. There are limited parking spaces nearby, so be prepared to park in a designated area or use a paid parking lot, which can cost around 20-30 TL per hour.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by finding a bus or train station in Troad. You can take a bus to the nearest major city with intercity transport options. From there, board a bus to İstanbul (the journey typically takes around 5-6 hours). Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in İstanbul, use the metro or tram to reach the Sultanahmet area. Take the M2 metro line from 'Otogar' to 'Şişli-Mecidiyeköy', then transfer to the T1 tram line at 'Kabataş' and ride it to 'Sultanahmet' station. From Sultanahmet station, The Blue Mosque is a short 5-minute walk. Be prepared for the metro and tram rides to cost approximately 15 TL each.
