Public Transport
From Bayramaly, head to the main bus station located in the center of the city. You can ask locals for directions if needed. Look for buses or shared taxis (marshrutkas) heading towards Merv. The fare is typically very low, around 1-2 TMT. It takes about 30-40 minutes to reach Merv. Once you arrive at the Merv bus station, disembark and ask for directions to Erk Kala, which is known to be close to the archaeological sites. You may need to take a local taxi from the bus station to Erk Kala, which should cost around 5-10 TMT.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the Merv bus station, exit the station and head southeast towards the main road. Continue on the main road until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the Erk Kala archaeological site. Follow the signs indicating the direction to Erk Kala. The walk may take approximately 1-1.5 hours, so ensure you have adequate water and sun protection.
