If you are traveling by car within the Köpetdag Mountains, you can access the area leading to Kopet Dag through Route M37. Start from Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Drive south on M37 for approximately 150 km until you reach the town of Tejen. Continue driving south for another 30 km to the village of Gokdepe. From Gokdepe, follow the signs towards the Kopet Dag Mountains, which will lead you to the mountain range. Note that you may need a 4x4 vehicle for the final ascent to Kopet Dag due to rugged terrain.

To reach Kopet Dag using public transportation, take a bus or a shared taxi from Ashgabat to Tejen. The journey takes about 2-3 hours and costs around 10-15 TMT (Turkmen manat). From Tejen, you can catch a local minibus towards Gokdepe, which should take another hour and cost about 5 TMT. Once in Gokdepe, you will likely need to hire a local taxi or arrange a ride with other travelers who have a vehicle to take you to the Kopet Dag Mountains. This last leg may cost between 20-30 TMT, depending on the negotiation.
