Car
From any location in Acholi, head towards Gulu town. Once in Gulu, take the Gulu-Fort Portal Road (also known as the A109) heading south. Follow the road for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach Fort Portal. Once you arrive in Fort Portal, follow signs to Semuliki National Park. The park is located just outside the city, on Plot 16 Kyebambe. The total driving distance from Gulu to Semuliki National Park is about 120 kilometers, and it typically takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Keep in mind you may incur fuel costs, which vary based on your vehicle's consumption.
Public Transportation
Start your journey at Gulu Bus Park, where you can find shared taxis or buses heading to Fort Portal. The fare is usually around 20,000 to 30,000 UGX per person. The journey to Fort Portal takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. Upon arrival at Fort Portal, you can take a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a local taxi to reach Semuliki National Park. The boda-boda fare would typically be around 10,000 to 15,000 UGX. Make sure to agree on the price before starting your ride. The total travel time using public transportation from Gulu to Semuliki National Park could range from 4 to 5 hours, depending on waiting times for transport connections.
