Getting There

  • Car

    From Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, start at the Buhoma sector. Take the main road heading south towards Kisoro. After about 20 km, you will reach the junction at Nkuringo. Turn left onto the road to Kisoro. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the town of Kisoro. From Kisoro, take the road towards Echuya Central Forest Reserve. Follow the signs, and after about 15 km, you will arrive at Echuya Central Forest Reserve. Be prepared for some rough patches in the road and ensure you have a reliable vehicle.

  • Public Transportation

    From Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, head to the nearest town, which is Buhoma. Look for a local taxi (shared minibus) heading to Kisoro. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, and the fare is usually around 15,000 UGX per person. Once in Kisoro, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) or a private taxi to take you to Echuya Central Forest Reserve, which is approximately 15 km away.
