Car
If you are driving from Jinja, take the Jinja-Kampala road (A-4) heading towards Kampala. After approximately 80 km, you will arrive in Kampala. Once you enter Kampala, follow signs to Kawempe Division. From the city center, take the Northern Bypass (A-104) and exit towards Kawempe. Continue straight until you reach the Kawempe area, where you can find Kamati Safaris. Parking is available near the site.
Public Transportation
To reach Kamati Safaris from Jinja via public transport, start by taking a bus from Jinja to Kampala. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Kampala, you will need to take a taxi (also known as a 'matatu') to Kawempe Division. Inform the driver that you are heading to Kamati Safaris, and they will drop you off at a nearby point. The taxi ride should take around 30 minutes. Expect to pay around 15,000 UGX for the bus and about 5,000 UGX for the taxi.
Bicycle
For the adventurous tourist, cycling to Kamati Safaris can be an option if you are in the nearby areas. Start from Jinja and follow the Jinja-Kampala road (A-4). The distance is about 80 km, which may take 4-5 hours depending on your cycling speed. Ensure to take breaks and stay hydrated. Once in Kampala, navigate to Kawempe Division, where Kamati Safaris is located. Be cautious of the traffic and ensure you wear a helmet.
