Car
If you are driving from Jinja, head east on the Jinja-Kampala Highway (A-109) for approximately 7 kilometers. After crossing the Nile River, take a left onto Lubanyi Road. Follow Lubanyi Road for about 5 kilometers until you reach Itanda Falls. Be cautious of the road conditions, especially during the rainy season. There is no entrance fee to visit the falls, but consider carrying cash for any local guides or parking fees.
Public Transport (Matatu)
From Jinja, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from the Jinja taxi park heading towards Iganga or Kamuli. Inform the driver or conductor that you want to stop at Itanda Falls. The journey takes about 30 minutes, and the fare is approximately 2,000-3,000 UGX. Once you reach the closest drop-off point, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer to the falls, so wear comfortable shoes.
Bicycle Rental
For an adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Jinja. Cycle along the Jinja-Kampala Highway (A-109) for about 7 kilometers, then turn left onto Lubanyi Road. Continue cycling for another 5 kilometers to reach Itanda Falls. This route allows you to enjoy the scenic views of the area. Bicycle rental costs around 10,000-20,000 UGX per day.
Walking
If you're staying nearby, you can also walk to Itanda Falls. From Jinja town, head towards Lubanyi Road, which is approximately 6 kilometers away. The walk will take you around 1.5-2 hours. Be sure to carry water and wear sun protection as the sun can be strong during the day.
