Car
If you are driving from any location in the Eastern Region, head towards the city of Kampala. Use the main roads connecting to Kampala, such as the Jinja Road (A-1) or the Kampala-Malaba Road (A-104). Once you reach the city, follow signs for City Centre and then towards Makindye Division. Turn onto Kibuli Road, and continue straight until you reach Kibuli Mosque located at Kibuli Road Mukwano Road. Parking is usually available on-site or nearby.
Public Transportation (Matatu)
To get to Kibuli Mosque using public transportation, you can take a Matatu (shared taxi) from various towns in the Eastern Region to Kampala. Look for Matatus heading to the Central Business District (CBD) or Makindye. Once you arrive at the CBD, transfer to Matatu number 24 or 28, which goes towards Kibuli. Inform the conductor that you want to stop at Kibuli Mosque. The fare for the Matatu from the Eastern Region to Kampala is approximately 5,000 to 10,000 UGX, and the fare within Kampala is usually around 1,000 to 2,000 UGX. Note: Prices can vary, so it’s best to confirm the fare before boarding.
Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
Upon reaching Kampala, you can also opt for a Boda Boda for a quicker route to Kibuli Mosque. From the CBD, hire a Boda Boda and ask the rider to take you to Kibuli Mosque. This is a convenient option if you are traveling with luggage or want to avoid walking. The fare typically ranges from 3,000 to 10,000 UGX depending on the distance and negotiation with the rider.
