If you are driving, start from Mbale city. Head northwest on the Mbale-Tirinyi Road (A109) for about 22 kilometers until you reach the junction for the Nyakalengija area. Turn onto the road leading to Nyakalengija and follow it for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Mount Gessi. The final stretch is a dirt road that may require a 4x4 vehicle, depending on current weather conditions.

From Mbale, take a shared taxi (matatu) heading towards Nyakalengija. The fare is typically around 3,000 UGX. Inform the driver that you are going to Mount Gessi. After about 30-45 minutes, you will arrive at Nyakalengija. From there, you can either walk the remaining distance (approximately 5 kilometers) to Mount Gessi or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 5,000-10,000 UGX, depending on your negotiation skills and the distance.
