Car
If you are driving from Mbale, head north on the Mbale - Kampala Road (A109). After approximately 10 kilometers, turn left onto a smaller road towards Wanale. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the base of Wanale Hill. Parking is available at the base, where you can begin your hike up to the peak.
Public Transportation
From Mbale, take a shared taxi or matatu heading towards the Wanale area. These usually depart from the Mbale taxi park. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off near the start of the trail to Wanale. The fare is typically around 2,000 UGX. Once you get off, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the trailhead, which is about a 10-minute walk from the drop-off point.
Hiking
Once you reach the trailhead, prepare for a hike that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit of Wanale. The path can be steep and rocky, so wear appropriate footwear and bring water. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
