From Jinja town center, head northwest on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout near the Nile River. Take the second exit onto the Jinja-Kamuli Road. After about 5 kilometers, you will see a sign for Mabira Forest on your left. Follow the signs and continue down the dirt road until you reach the entrance of Mabira Forest.

Starting from the Jinja Clock Tower, walk towards the Nile River. Follow the path along the river until you reach the main road. Turn left onto the Jinja-Kamuli Road and continue walking. You will pass by local shops and stalls. After about 5 kilometers, look for the entrance to Mabira Forest on your left. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
Find a nearby boda boda stage in Jinja (the area near the Clock Tower is a popular spot). Inform the driver that you want to go to Mabira Forest. The journey will take around 15-20 minutes. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the forest. Make sure to agree on the price before starting your ride.

Public Transport (Matatu)
Head to the Jinja bus park and look for a matatu heading towards Kamuli. Board the matatu and inform the conductor that you want to get off at Mabira Forest. The ride takes about 30 minutes, and you will be dropped off at the roadside near the forest entrance. From there, it’s a short walk into the forest.
