Once you arrive in Entebbe, ask locals for directions to Mabamba Swamp, which is a well-known spot for shoebill watching.

To reach Mabamba Swamp from central Kampala, find a Boda Boda (motorcycle taxi) stand. Tell the driver you want to go to Entebbe. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Entebbe, ask the driver to drop you off near the Mabamba Swamp entrance. If they are unfamiliar with it, you can show them the address or suggest they navigate to it using a phone map application.

Public Transport (Matatu)
From Kampala, head to the nearest bus station where you can find Matatus (shared taxis) heading to Entebbe. Board a Matatu that has 'Entebbe' marked on it. The journey will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Entebbe, you can take a short taxi or Boda Boda ride to Mabamba Swamp. Ask locals for the best way to reach the swamp from the town center.
