Boda Boda
From the city center of Kampala, head to any main road and look for a boda boda stage. Tell the rider you want to go to Mabira Forest. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on traffic, and they will take you directly to the entrance of the forest.
Public Transport (Matatu)
Make your way to the main bus park in Kampala. Look for a matatu heading to Jinja or any that stops at Mabira Forest. The fare is around 2,000-5,000 UGX. After about 45 minutes to an hour, ask the conductor to drop you off at the Mabira Forest junction. From there, you can either walk or hire a boda boda to take you to the forest entrance, which is about 5 km away.
Walking
If you are staying near the forest or in a nearby area, you can walk to Mabira Forest. Start by locating the main road that leads towards Jinja. Follow the road signs towards Mabira Forest. The walk is about 5-10 kilometers and may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure you have proper walking shoes and stay hydrated.
