Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Kampala, start at the famous Uganda Museum located on Kira Road. Head north on Kira Road until you reach the intersection with Jinja Road. Turn left onto Jinja Road and continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Nakawa Market area. From Nakawa Market, take the path leading to the Kawempe Division, where you will begin to see signs pointing towards Nabankema Hill. Follow the signs, which will guide you through local neighborhoods. The last stretch will involve a slight uphill walk as you approach Nabankema Hill. You may ask locals for directions, as they are usually very friendly and willing to help.

• Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

  If you prefer a faster option, you can take a boda boda. From your location in Kampala, find the nearest boda boda stage (these are usually found near markets or busy intersections). Request the rider to take you to Nabankema Hill, Kawempe Division. The ride should take approximately 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance uphill to reach the top of Nabankema Hill.

• Public Transport (Matatu)

  To reach Nabankema Hill via public transport, find a matatu (shared taxi) that is heading towards Kawempe. You can catch a matatu from the central taxi park located near the Old Taxi Park in Kampala. Board a matatu on the route going to Kawempe and inform the conductor you are going to Nabankema Hill. Once you reach the Kawempe area, get off at the nearest stop and ask for directions to Nabankema Hill. You will likely have to walk a little bit uphill, so be prepared for a short hike.
