Walking
If you are starting from the Kampala City Centre, head east on Speke Road until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Jinja Road and continue walking straight. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will see the Owino Market on your left. The market is a large, bustling area, known for its vibrant atmosphere and various stalls.
Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)
From any location in Kampala, you can easily catch a boda boda to Owino Market. Simply flag down a boda boda and tell the rider 'Owino Market' or show them the location on your phone. The ride should take about 10 minutes from the City Centre, depending on traffic. Ensure you wear a helmet and negotiate the fare before starting the ride.
Matatu (Minibus)
To reach Owino Market via matatu, go to the nearest matatu stage and look for a matatu heading to 'Kampala East' or 'Kampala Central'. Inform the conductor that you are going to Owino Market. The matatu will drop you off at the nearby stop, and from there, it's just a short walk to the market entrance. Be prepared for a crowded ride, especially during peak hours.
Walking from the nearest landmark
If you are near the Nakivubo Stadium, walk towards Jinja Road. Once you reach Jinja Road, turn left and continue straight for about 500 meters. Owino Market will be on your right. Look for the large signboards and crowds of people, which will guide you to the entrance.
