Walking
If you are starting from the Kampala city center, head northeast on Jinja Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Old Kira Road. Turn left onto Old Kira Road. Walk along Old Kira Road for about 1 kilometer. You will pass a few shops and local eateries. Continue walking until you see the Mulago Referral Hospital on your left. The Uganda Museum is located just after the hospital, on Plot 5 Old Kira Road, Kitante. Look for signs indicating the museum, and you will find the entrance on your right.
Bicycle
For those who prefer to cycle, start from the Kampala city center and head towards Jinja Road. Follow the same route as pedestrians, but be mindful of traffic. After you reach the junction with Old Kira Road, turn left. Cycle straight along Old Kira Road. Keep an eye on your surroundings as you pass by various shops. You will see Mulago Referral Hospital on your left; the Uganda Museum is just beyond that, on your right at Plot 5 Old Kira Road, Kitante.
Public Transport (Boda Boda)
To reach the Uganda Museum via a boda boda, find a boda boda stand near your location in Kampala. Inform the rider that you would like to go to the Uganda Museum, located after Mulago Referral Hospital on Old Kira Road. The rider will take you directly, and you should look for the museum entrance right after the hospital. Make sure to agree on the fare before you start your journey.
Public Transport (Matatu)
If you prefer to use a matatu (shared taxi), head to the nearest matatu stage in Kampala that services routes toward Nakawa. Board a matatu heading in that direction and ask the conductor to drop you off at Mulago Hospital. From there, walk along Old Kira Road for about 5 minutes, and you will see the Uganda Museum, which is located on your right after passing Mulago Referral Hospital.
