Getting There

  • Walking

Start in the Muyenga neighborhood and head north towards Gaba Road. As you walk, keep an eye out for local shops and cafes along the way. Once you reach Gaba Road, turn left and continue walking until you reach the main roundabout.

  • Boda Boda

At the roundabout on Gaba Road, you can find boda boda (motorcycle taxi) drivers waiting. Negotiate a fare to the Uganda Museum. The cost should be around 3,000 to 5,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings). The driver will take you directly to the museum, which is approximately a 15-minute ride.

  • Public Transport (Matatu)

Instead of a boda boda, you can opt for a matatu (shared minibus). From Gaba Road, look for a matatu heading towards Kitante or Mulago. The fare is usually about 1,500 UGX. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the Uganda Museum stop, which is near Mulago Referral Hospital. After getting off, it will be a short walk to the museum entrance.

  • Walking from the bus stop

If you arrive via matatu, once you get off, walk towards Old Kira Road. The museum is located after Mulago Referral Hospital on Plot 5 Old Kira Road. Follow the signs, and you should be able to see the entrance within a few minutes.
