If you're driving from the main entrance of Kibale National Park, head northeast on the main road (A109) towards Fort Portal. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will reach the town of Fort Portal. From the center of Fort Portal, take the direction towards Nyakasura. The Amabere Caves are located about 5 kilometers from Fort Portal on the Nyakasura Road. Look for signs directing you to the caves. There is a small parking area available.

Public Transportation
To reach Amabere Caves via public transportation, first head to Fort Portal town. You can take a taxi or a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) from your location in Kibale National Park to the main road, where you can catch a taxi to Fort Portal. Once in Fort Portal, look for a taxi or boda-boda heading towards Nyakasura. Confirm with the driver that they know the Amabere Caves location. The ride from Fort Portal to the caves should take about 15 minutes. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. Typical costs for the taxi from Kibale to Fort Portal may range from UGX 10,000 to UGX 15,000.

Boda-Boda
For a more adventurous journey, you can take a boda-boda from Fort Portal directly to Amabere Caves. After arriving in Fort Portal, negotiate the fare with a boda-boda driver. The journey will take approximately 15 minutes. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow all safety precautions. The cost of a boda-boda ride from Fort Portal to the caves typically ranges from UGX 5,000 to UGX 10,000.
