Walking
From the center of Mbarara, head northeast on Main Street towards the junction with the Kabale-Mbarara Road. Continue straight on this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction at the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Kabale-Mbarara Road (A104) and walk for approximately 2 kilometers. Look out for the signpost for Nkokonjeru Tombs on your left. Follow the sign which leads you onto a smaller dirt road that will take you directly to the tombs, around 500 meters from the main road.
Bicycle
Start from the central bus park in Mbarara and head northeast towards the Main Street. Once you reach Main Street, turn right and proceed straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Kabale-Mbarara Road (A104). Continue cycling for about 2 kilometers until you see a sign for Nkokonjeru Tombs on the left. Turn onto the dirt road leading towards the tombs and continue for about 500 meters.
Public Transport (Boda Boda)
From your location in Mbarara, find a nearby boda boda (motorcycle taxi) stand. Inform the driver that you want to go to Nkokonjeru Tombs. The driver will take you along the Kabale-Mbarara Road (A104), and you will need to pay attention to the landmarks. Once you see the signpost for Nkokonjeru Tombs, inform the driver to drop you off there. The ride should take about 15 minutes depending on traffic.
